Can I sew over pins?
Why would you sew over pins????? Surely, if the
needle hits the pin the needle will break before the pin does!

Hi Robyn,
Although I know it sounds like a silly technique it actually works! When you need to hold your layers of fabric in place to sew so that you have minimal movement you will be sewing at a slower pace therefore minimising the chance of of pin or needle breakage.
It’s a method used successfully when sewing fabrics such as polar fleece, cord or velvet. It can also be used in quilting when sewing multiple layers of fabrics. Try this method and remember, place your pins horizontally and take your time. Its not about speed, but accuracy! Let me know how you go.
