Hi Robyn,
Although I know it sounds like a silly technique it actually works! When
you need to hold your layers of fabric in place to sew so that you have
minimal movement you will be sewing at a slower pace therefore minimising
the chance of of pin or needle breakage.
It’s a method used successfully when sewing fabrics such as polar fleece,
cord or velvet. It can also be used in quilting when sewing multiple
layers of fabrics. Try this method and remember, place your pins
horizontally and take your time. Its not about speed, but accuracy! Let me
know how you go.

What is interlining? Is it the same as interfacing?

Vicky, I have read all the advice on buying a machine I can find on Google and am confused, what do I need for my first machine?

How long do needles last in a sewing machine? When Do I change them?

What can I start sewing? Not clothing. I want to start slowly.

I have bought my first pattern (commercial), why is the size I need two sizes bigger than what I buy at stores?

Sewing by hand is better than using a machine?
